Striker Ashleigh Weerden scored twice as Women’s Super League strugglers Crystal Palace eased into the FA Cup fifth round with a 6-1 victory over Championship Sheffield United.

Palace got their noses in front at the VBS Community Stadium with just six minutes gone when Molly-Mae Sharpe fired into the bottom corner from all of 35 yards, and they extended their lead 16 minutes before the break through Weerden.

Mille Gejl increased their advantage further and Weerden put the result beyond doubt with a fourth with 29 minutes remaining before My Cato struck, and although substitute Alyssa Aherne pulled one back, Olivia Page’s own goal completed the rout.
